Events

Like every author I want everyone to read my book (you would really like it, honest) and so I shall be on the road, doing readings, talks, signings, interviews, photoshoots as well as writing articles and generally annoying everyone. Here are some events forthcoming:

Friday August 26th Raines of Helperby: talk
Come along to this family-run cafe/deli at 7pm to hear Andy read from All Teachers Great and Small, talk about the next book in the series, crack a few gags and maybe even answer some questions. Book signing at the end too.

Saturday 27th August The Guisborough Bookshop: signing
The largest independent bookseller in the North East and highly recommended on the Daily Telegraph website for its helpful staff. I'll be signing copies of All Teachers Great and Small between 11am and 1pm. Come along and have a chat.

Wednesday 8th September BBC Radio York: interview
I'll be on Russell Walker-Brown's show between 2 and 3pm, talking about books, writing, life, teaching, pies (possibly) and music. Yes, it's some kind of desert island discs thing! Should be great fun.

September (date TBC) Little Ripon Bookshop: signing
It's small but remember, quality counts more than quantity and this is another hard-working, top-notch indie store that deserves the support of local people. Come along, have a chat, pick up a personalised copy of All Teachers Great and Small and have a fab read afterwards. Go on, treat yourself.

Thurs 22nd Sept: Seton CP School, Staithes: school visit
I shall be performing poems, entertaining children, getting them to join in and enthusing about books, words, stories, poetry and more. No doubt there will be some questions for me to answer along the lines of: are you rich? Are you famous? Do you know JK Rowling? How long does it take to write a book? (Answers: the first 3 no and the fourth one, er, well....).

Tues 27th September: Cragside Primary, Newcastle: School visit
Much the same as above but with delightful Geordie accents all round. Really looking forward to this as I always get a lovely welcome from schools in the North East.

Saturday 1st October: Cedar Barn cafe and farm shop, Pickering: Talk with meal
This is not to be missed - a special Celebration of Yorkshire Food at this wonderful, family run cafe specialising in yummy locally-produced food. I'll be doing a reading, telling funny stories, giving a glimpse of my next book and signing copies of my recent memoir at a bargain price. Heaven at 7pm.

I'll also be doing a Help for Heroes gig at Welburn village Hall on 8th October (details coming).

Saturday 22nd October: Malton Literature Festival: kids' poetry workshop
From 10.30-12 I shall be at the wonderful Hope Central Cafe in sunny Malton running a madcap interactive poetry performance thing for ages 7-11 which will be huge fun!

Saturday 22nd October: Malton Literature Festival: Author talk & reading
At 6.30-7.30 I will be running an entertaining session for adults at the Milton Rooms to include a reading from my memorable memoir All Teachers Great and Small, along with a peek at the next book in the series and a chance to ask questions or buy a signed copy. Limited places so book early, as Fred Pontin used to say...

And there's more in November and December - if only I could remember it...
